The DiMarzio Ionizer 8 Neck Model pickup was designed in collaboration with Tosin Abasi to expand the sonic capabilities of modern 8-string guitars. Engineered to deliver exceptional versatility, it combines the warm, open character of a vintage humbucker with the tight, articulate response required for technical playing.
A key focus of its design is delivering an authentic, dynamic single-coil voice when split. The coil-split mode features calibrated resistance to preserve clarity on the lower seventh and eighth strings while capturing classic single-coil chime across the higher registers.
Built with ceramic magnets and 4-conductor wiring, this pickup supports versatile wiring configurations. Primarily recommended for the neck position, it provides consistent articulation and balanced frequency response for extended-range instruments.
