Schaller M6 180 Guitar Tuning Machine
The Schaller M6 180 guitar tuning machine represents an evolution of the industry standard closed tuning machine originally introduced in 1966. Engineered with a precise 1:18 gear ratio, it delivers velvety-smooth action, exact fine-tuning, and exceptional tuning stability. Each component is CNC-machined to exacting tolerances and permanently lubricated with Schaller special grease for completely maintenance-free operation.
Equipped with high-grade brass string posts fitted precisely into the housing, this machine head minimizes wear while maximizing tone transfer and mechanical stability. The self-locking drive mechanism ensures consistent tension and smooth, reliable tuning across diverse playing conditions.
Featuring Schaller's innovative stepped flanged washer, the M6 180 reliably centers the string post via the banjo bolt with a 0.39 in (10 mm) base, eliminating tilting torque and structural strain without requiring a stepped peghead bore. It offers direct drop-in replacement functionality for classic M6 footprints without requiring instrument modifications.
