Every closed-type tuner is permanently lubricated with Schaller special grease for completely maintenance-free operation over its lifespan. The string posts are machined from high-grade brass and fitted into the housing with tight tolerances to prevent wear, while high-precision internal gearing guarantees smooth and responsive tuning control.
Installation is simplified by the innovative Schaller stepped flanged bushing, which centers the string post securely through the threaded bushing without requiring a stepped headstock bore. This specialized design eliminates tilting torque and absorbs mechanical stress, protecting both the string post and rear mounting screws for enhanced durability.
